Scarlet Poppy Arte is a collection of one-of-a-kind handmade women’s apparel, which was founded as a celebration of the centuries old artisanal traditions of India and Southeast Asia. The collection utilizes fabrics thoughtfully collected over 40 years of travel throughout these regions, and the designs were brought to life by local tailors and artisans whose skills have been otherwise threatened by machine produced goods.
From its inception the proceeds have benefited the same communities the collection celebrates. For the recipient of the monies generated by sales, Scarlet Poppy Arte’s founder chose STOP, India, founded by Roma Debabrata. It is a foundation dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating girls and women who have been trafficked for the sex trade.
Scarlet Poppy Arte’s founder donated the entire collection to the MCN Foundation to support the work we do with girls and women. We continue to partner with STOP, India on various health education and skills training programs.
