STOP strongly believes in creating safe spaces through its intervention in community and legal domain which can help prevent instances of violence towards women and children.
18 girls have been repatriated in the last year. Out of the 18; 13 girls were from Bangladesh who were trafficked to Hyderabad for commercial sexual exploitation and 5 girls were British Nationals who were repatriated and reintegrated successfully to their families.
Capacity Building works on both aspects at STOP; Preventive as well as Curative. While the Social enterprises are a large examples of creating scope for financial capacity. besides, the enterprises. the organization conducts numerous workshops and programmes with professionals from various fields for capacity building.
STOP has been proactively involved in organizing and conducting rescue mission for children who have been trafficked. Alongside the help of the police, the members of the organization under guidance of the founder president Prof. Roma Debabrata carries forward rescue mission.
Young women (ages 19-24) from these adopted communities were awarded educational scholarships through STOP. In 2017, three women were awarded with the scholarship. These scholarships enabled them to pursue degrees in Nursing, Mass Media and Primary Teacher Training.
The mission of STOP is to promote the establishment of an egalitarian society through the political, social and economic empowerment of victims of trafficking and violence, helping them in their journey of victims to survivors and ultimately, to agents of social change.
STOP functions on two scales; Curative and Preventive. Whereas curative work by the organization helps the girls following the rescue, preventive endeavors of STOP has created a large network of at-risk community areas and still only working to make the network larger to help eradicate Human-trafficking from its roots. Repatriate Girls to Their Homes
Funds are for Transportation, Documents and a Chaperone to accompany the girls to their destination. Cost per girl is $400 USD per girl. All donations go towards this always ongoing project.
