national health education week
National Health Education Week is sponsored by the Society for Public Health Education (SOPHE) and is held during the third full week of October. SOPHE is an independent professional association represented by 4,000 health education professionals and students throughout the United States and 25 international countries.
National Health Education Week focuses national attention on a major public health issue and promotes consumers’ understanding of the role of health education in promoting the public’s health. This year’s theme is Partnerships to Build a Community.
MCN Foundation also believes strongly in health education. Based on the belief that health is a basic human right, MCN Foundation seeks to empower communities to take control of their health and to establish a vibrant and participatory health care system made up of communities, health workers and governments.
Knowledge is the core product of MCN Foundation’s activities. MCN Foundation shares evidence-based knowledge with others to increase and promote healthcare based education, empowerment and job creation in rural and developing regions. MCN Foundation provides educational resources through our learning management system.
At MCN Foundation we know that we cannot change the world alone. Each and every person that we meet plays a role in shaping what we can do and how we will do it. Healthcare begins with you, the caregiver, the mother, the brother and those who serve those most in need- we are in this together. If you would like more information about MCN Foundation please contact us at info@mcnfoundation.org.
“Teaching should be such that what is offered is perceived as a valuable gift and not as a hard duty.
