More than 6,000 world leaders, influencers, advocates, academics, activists, and journalists flocked to Vancouver from around the world with the drive to accelerate progress for girls and women everywhere.

Amanda Valeur and I were blown away by the generous spirit of collaboration with organizations freely sharing, and encouraging others to share, what could be considered their proprietary educational tools to reach the highest numbers of women and girls.

Also of significance was the number of Peer to Peer communication programs and the innovative tools and communication programs that have been developed to support these goals. From the encrypted interviews to protect identities from Girl Effect to the Beauty Fairs of PSI to the menstrual education produced by WASH, which is customized through both visual images and localized languages, we were impressed and grateful for the amount of content and spirit of cooperation found in all aspects of the convention.

Rather than being overwhelmed by the huge barriers to success, of which there are many, we were impressed by the dedication and accomplishments of those we encountered. As we pursue collaborations and develop new projects, inspired by our experiences, we will keep you informed.
